What this site knows about you

Almost nothing, and the browser is what enforces it rather than this sentence.

On this page

  1. What this site knows about you
  2. Text messages, and the number they go to
  3. Calls, recordings and transcripts
  4. Who else touches the data
  5. How long things are kept

There is no analytics on this site and there will not be one. No trackers, no cookie banner, no third-party scripts, and the page is not allowed to open a connection to anywhere at all.

If you leave your number it is stored so one person can call you once. It is not sold, not shared, and not added to any mailing list.

For a tradesman using the product: your customers’ details are yours, are never shown to another business, and are only used to book the job and tell them when you are coming.

Location tracking runs only during your working hours, only on days you have a job, and one tap turns it off.

Text messages, and the number they go to

MinutesOut appointment texts is the text message program this section covers. It sends a customer of a home-service business the confirmation of an appointment they booked, a message when the time changes, and an arrival update when the tradesman is running behind.

A number gets into that program one way. The customer says it out loud, on their own phone call to the business, after being told the messages are coming, and it is read back to them digit by digit. No number is bought, rented, or taken from a list, and no form on this site signs a customer up for text messages.

For a text message we hold the mobile number, the words of the message, the time it was sent, and what the carrier reported back about delivery. We hold the record of the consent beside it: which call the number was given on, and when.

That number is used to text that customer about that job, and for nothing else. There is no marketing message in this product to send, no newsletter, and no list to be added to.

We do not share, sell, or provide your mobile phone number or messaging consent data to third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes.

All the above categories exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties.

Message frequency varies. It follows the work rather than a schedule, and a customer who books one job usually gets between one and five messages about it.

Message and data rates may apply.

Reply STOP to any message and the messages stop. The words END, CANCEL, UNSUBSCRIBE and QUIT do the same thing. Reply START to begin again, and reply HELP to be told who is texting you, what the messages are for, and how to stop them.

Calls, recordings and transcripts

When the service answers a call for a tradesman, the call is recorded and written out as text. The recording and the transcript are how the job gets booked correctly and how the tradesman can check what was said.

The caller is told at the start of the call. The service says who it is, says that it is an automated assistant rather than a person, and says the line is recorded, before anything else is asked.

New York, where the service runs, allows a recording when one person on the call agrees to it. We do not rely on that. The disclosure is spoken on every call, to every caller, wherever they are calling from, because some states ask everyone on the call to agree and a phone number does not tell you where its owner is standing. There is one exception. When somebody is in danger, the safety instruction comes first, the disclosure is skipped, and the call is still recorded.

A recording and its transcript are visible to the tradesman the call was for. They are not shown to any other business. Everything is kept while the account is active. When an account is deleted, everything that belongs to it is deleted within ninety days, and that includes the call recordings and the transcripts. We may still use that data during those ninety days.

A caller who does not want to be recorded can say so and ask for the tradesman to call them back instead.

Who else touches the data

Running this service means a handful of other companies handle some of the data, each one only for the job it does. Twilio is the telephone and text message network that carries the calls and the messages. Vapi runs the answering service, and inside it Deepgram turns what a caller says into text, OpenAI works out what they are asking for, and ElevenLabs speaks the replies. Google turns an address into a place on a map. Stripe takes the tradesman’s subscription payment. Supabase stores the records. Each is bound by contract to use the data only to provide its service to us, and none of them is allowed to use it for their own marketing.

All the above categories exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties.

How long things are kept

Everything is kept while the account is active. When an account is deleted, everything that belongs to it is deleted within ninety days, and that includes the call recordings and the transcripts. We may still use that data during those ninety days. A business can set that window shorter.
